Wet & Wild

I went to the new waterpark Wet & Wild yesterday. It's in northern northern northern Phoenix, above the 101. And to be honest, it wasn't worth the money or drive. First off, it cost $35 to get in plus tax. Second, you had to pay for parking (which to me doesn't make any sense when it's the park's parking lot). Also, the "lazy river" had absolutely no scenery at all like Sunsplash does. It was just a very slow-moving river that went around nothing. The slides were not that exciting and there really weren't that many of them. The "Tornado" was fun but that was the only one. All the slides are in tubes so you don't get wet enough. The other parks have slides where you go down without a tube. They also don't have any speed slides, like the "Bonzaii" (i think that's how it's spelled) like in Sunsplash.

Don't go with small kids or babies because there is absolutely nothing for them. They are only allowed to go in the lazy river and the wave pool (and the wave pool's waves were really small and unexciting). The "children's play area" is for big kids. They actually measure them to make sure they are tall enough. It's not like Sunsplash where they have little mini slides and water spouts for little kids to play with. Lastly, they don't have any water fountains and if you want a cup of water you have to pay for it. Isn't there a law somewhere that says you have to have free water for people?

Basically, Sunsplash is closer and cheaper (I think - I haven't been there in a few years) and honestly more fun. Besides, it has Golfland right next to it to play minigolf or arcades if you get bored. So yea, I wouldn't recommend Wet & Wild. But I still had a little bit of fun :)

My Bucket List (continued)

Ok, so I actually bought a really pretty journal to put all of my bucket list items in so that I can cross them off and then put pictures of the experiences that I have. A few of them are already crossed off and I have pictures, like "swimming with the dolphins"! I did that in Hawaii a few years back! I'm gonna have to buy a digital camera though (my is really old and crappy) so that I can record all of the amazing moments in life that I experience.

I will update and post when I accomplish events and will post the pictures and talk all about the experiences here on my blog!

My Bucket List

I want to be a world traveler one day. So I have a huge Bucket List. To make things easier for myself (so I can cross them off in SOME kind of logical fashion), I am grouping the things I want to do according to country.

Today I will start with Germany.

-Take photographs of remnants of the Berlin Wall
-Tour Dachau
-Attend Oktoberfest

Simple enough so far, right?

Surprise!!

I threw a surprise going away party for my best friend Jessica last night. She's moving back to Iowa to be with her family. I'm very sad that she's leaving me :(

But let me tell you the ordeal of trying to get her to this surprise party!! What a feat!

Jessica and I made plans to go to Maloney's in Tempe on Thursday. She would come over my house to get ready after work (she was supposed to close the restaurant which closes at 10pm). Everyone would already be over at that point and SURPRISE!! But things never work out the way they are planned, do they?

First of all, she invited this guy that she is seeing (which i don't understand why she would start seeing a guy a week before she's moving to a different state) so I had to get his phone number so I could set up the surprise with him and invite him to the party. I told a girl that I planned the party with, Katy, to take her phone and get his number out of it so that I could get in contact with him and plan the party. Well Jessica was so funny because she was pissed at Katy. She came up to me and was like "gosh, Katy is SO annoying! She just took my phone. She's probably being nosy and looking at all my texts. She needs to get a life!" All I could say was, "yea... i know what you mean..." LOL I felt horrible! But i got his number. Check.

Second, we made a deal with the manager to make sure she would close the restaurant. He forgot to schedule her closing though, but he said he would keep her on as long as possible. The problem here, though, was she was getting pissed that he was keeping her on for no reason. We really pissed her off a LOT with this whole ordeal! But at least we got the manager to keep her on. Check

Next, Jessica was supposed to get ready for the night at my house, which is when we were going to surprise her, but she didn't bring anything with her to get ready, so she had to go home to get ready. She lives close to the bar so logically, I should meet up with her somewhere by her, rather than her coming all the way back to my place. So I called Jason, the guy she was seeing, and we planned it that he offered to come pick me up. Check

Jessica said that I should just drive to her house and then we can all go together though. She didn't think Jason should have to drive all the way back to where I am just to pick me up. But I was like, so I can't drink? I have to drive there and then drive home tonight? She said no, just drive to my house and then you can just crash whereever we stay tonight. Uh oh.

I called her back and was like, well, Jason offered to drive me the other day so I went out to dinner and have been drinking. I don't want to drive all the way out there. Well, turns out that Jessica had to go buy and outfit for the night and she was gonna shop at Ross, which is right by my house. So she said, "well i'm right by your house. I'll just pick you up now" Nobody had arrived yet!!! So I told her to hold on one second because I 'had a call on the other line'. I called Macayo's real fast and talked to Katy. We came up with a plan.

I called Jessica back and said "sorry about that, that was Katy on the other line. She really wants to come out with us and try her fake ID." Jessica was like, "are you serious?!?! She's driving me crazy! Her fake won't work there. They scan and blacklight and don't take any fakes." I was like, "I know I told her that but she insisted on trying. She said that she really wants to hang out with us tonight so she'd be willing to give it a shot. So she's gonna come pick me up after she gets off work and goes home and gets changed" (Katy lives in the same apartment complex as me by the way). Once again, Jessica was really irritated with Katy. But at least I got it so she didn't come over right away.

Now was the other hard part. I needed to tell Jessica that Katy got home and found her boyfriend home from work early and would not let her go out, so she had to come all the way back and pick me up... oops! Sorry! But I had to time it so that she was already home and that Jason was picking her up. So I called him and got everything planned that he would call me back when he was outside of her door. So he did, I called her, she was OF COURSE pissed because Katy said she was gonna go and then once again had to cancel because of her boyfriend!! She asked him if it was okay to come pick me up and he of course said yes.

The last part of the night that I had to figure out what to do was how to get her to come up to my apartment, rather than just calling me to come down. All my friends at the party were spurting out ideas (all terrible) but my mom (who came to the party for a little bit just to wish Jessica good luck and to help me out because she knew I was really stressed about the surprise) finally figured out what I should do.... just not answer my phone!! So I didn't. She called three times. (I texted Jason to have him tell her to just run up and get me), she came up, slammed on my door, I opened it....... and.......................................

SURPRISE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It worked out perfectly, but not without a lot of stress. She said "oh my goodness what's going on??" She had no idea. She told me that the guys were waiting in the car though, I told her they were in on the surprise... she couldn't believe it.

It was a good night :)

She got plastered :P

My stepdad has ridiculous sayings that he says over and over and over again. Everyday. So I wanted to write them all down so that I don't forget any of them. It's a work in progress because it's hard to remember all of them but here is the start of them:

Turn out the lights! The party's over. They say that all good things must end. Call it a night! The party's ova! La di da di da di da.
Don't take any wooden nickels.
No rebase!
Oh yum yum!
Does a bear go in the woods?
Does an elephant go in the woods?
I know how to cook! I can boil water and melt butter.
Yodilaye yodilaye yodilay-hee-hoo
Who is it??
Alrighty then!
Downtown Charlie Brown!
No thanks I'm trying to quit.
HI sweethot!
Where's my 10%?
BAH bah black sheep have you any wool?

He also has trigger words. When you say a certain word he will BURST into song:
Wendy - a beach boy's song
Moon - there's a moon out tonight
Parade - i love a parade

Paradise Bakery

You had to be there but we were cracking up at this situation. On Thursday, me and my friends Jessica and Katy went to Paradise Bakery for lunch. Katy ordered a chicken caesar salad along with her sandwich. She was commenting on how good her salad was and stated that she was going to have it for dinner later that night. Jessica was like, "what? you're going to have it AGAIN tonight? But you JUST had it!" Me and Katy were confused so I said in a sarcastic voice, "yea Katy, it's CRAZY to have salad more than once in a day...." Jessica then said "Ooooooh! I thought you meant you wanted Paradise Bakery again!"
